This photo was taken during my recent hike on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Just today, I read a blog post by Larry Ferlazzo on the PWIM (Picture Word Inductive Model). I really like the idea of tagging photos with words for use with ELLs. Thinglink is a very easy way to do this! You can also embed the Thinglink code into Web sites such as Tumblr. I’m going to do that now and that should allow all the images I post here to be tagged if I choose to do so!

Adrienne Rich, poet and feminist, and Earl Scruggs, banjo player and bluegrass musician, both died this week. Listen to the poem by Rich. Listen to the music by Earl Scruggs and Bela Fleck.

This is part of a teacher training stint in Lima and Cusco, Peru sponsored by U.S. D.O.S. and organized by David Fay, RELO Andes. The video shows a “mall” presentation of Web resources. Teachers are demonstrating Web resources in the “mall” and the conference attendees are learning how to use the tools and integrate them into their classroom teaching.
